The looking down from heaven

This is the transition from the secular universe to the divine realm.

 

Imagine it sparkling by candle light.

 

At a lower level on the ceiling are many pictures of saints.

In the squinches are key scenes from Jesus' life. Here is his baptism. Note the depiction of God the father as a blue circle with a hand pointing to Jesus. That is as close to an image of God the father as you will ever see.

This is said to be the presentation in the temple - but Jesus was alleged to be 12 when that was done. Plus a woman is watching--unlikely for a depiction of the temple.
