This is a detailed look at the "treasures" owned by the monastery of St. John: architecture, wall paintings, icons, church gold embroideries, church silver, illustrated manuscripts, etc. For each category numerous examples are given in large, detailed photographs.

But the book also contains significant essays on the various topics.

Note: many of these objects are on display at the museum of the monastery.
