This is not, as I first thought, John the Baptist, but rather, St. Oniferous. I know nothing about him, but, this icon is the style of how he is shown: a very long thin beard, the girdle, the paper.

Icons are deliberately not "realistic" because they are attempting to show not the physical likeness of a person, but the spirit of God shining through them.
