Arriving at the monastery the Germans made camp, accepted food as a gift, rested and took walks with the monks. Only later in the day did they round up the priests and start to march them off.
A small boy, seeing his elderly priest hobbling in the group, beseeched the Germans not to take the priest. The soldiers clubbed the child and made him march with the rest.
Led to the top of a high cliff, the soldiers made the group jump off to their deaths.
