| This is the fishing village of Galaxidi,
to the southwest of Delphi. Once a busy port, it is now a sleepy,
beautiful town. |
 |
| With either town, you can spend
a few hours wandering around enjoying the houses, flowers and calm.
One of the joys of Greece is that the humblest village has a charm,
unity of architecture and appropriate use of the local topography.
Neither town is on any ones list of top one hundred Greek sites. Both
are examples of an unexpected joy of travel. |

To the east of Delphi is the town of Arahova.
This is center of handcrafts and if you're
heading to Delphi, worth a stop. Several small hotels are here as
well so it is a possible overnight stop if you want to make your
trip
