Moving around
Useful info

In traveling in and out of Athens be aware that there is not just one railway station but two, and that there is not just one place where the ferries dock: there are several places.

At one extreme, some ferries bound for Athens dock at Rafina which is an hour's bus ride from the center of the city.

The new international airport gets good reviews, but is nearly an hour out of town. Busses and the expanded Metro connect to it. There are two rail lines that you can get on at the airport. One is the Metro proper that heads into town, the other is the "Suburban Rail" that is less likely to be the one you want.
