On the western edge of the island, 12km from Chora, and down a side road, is this: a perfect setting for a chapel.

There is the chapel, the view, a walk down to a beach (said to be quite nice) and the ruins of a castle as well.

This is the iconostasis of the chapel.

An icon of the transfiguration. Elijah and Moses appear and talk to Jesus while the apostles Peter, James and John tremble in fear.

John the Baptish's head in a basket at the bottom. Not sure about the rest of the symbolism.

There is, I think, an annual celbration that uses the entire plaza space. Rest rooms on the far left.

The promontory contains the ruins of an old castle. Not much is up there and a rather difficult path leads there - but the view would be something.

A view down to the isolated beach. You'd likely have it all to yoursel.
